Denmark: the “manufacturing” department of the 3F union sets goals for the renewal of collective agreements in 2010

For a new union unity. The national assembly of the manufacturing department of the 3F union (379 representatives) was held in Esbjerg on September 26-27. Open to the radical reform of Danish trade unions recommended last month by 3F’s chair (see our dispatch No. 090817), the representatives promised they would defend this concept when negotiating with other unions and that they would speak in favor of a “powerful union” able to face the “war launched by the coalition in power against unions.” Judging that the government was trying to “bury the Danish model,” they called on voters to mobilize for the coming regional elections in November.
